Nightmare

Nightmare-type creatures in Magic: the Gathering represent mental terrors of the night and various spirits. They are predominantly black but aren’t color-exclusive. The type owes its name to the first card of its kind, Nightmare from alpha. They are associated with the Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver planeswalker. When a Nightmare creature is played, you temporarily lose another card or a particular resource until it is gone from play.
