Cat-type creatures in Magic: the Gathering were first introduced in Alpha. Any sort of feline creature can get this creature type. They are common to white. Savannah Lions in Alpha, Cat Warriors in Legends, and Canyon Wildcat in Tempest all have a claim to being the first-ever cat-type creature in the game. Ajani Goldmane, another cat, was the first-ever non-human planeswalker in Magic and was in the original Lowyn setup.
