Merfolk are a creature type of aquatic humanoids in Magic: the Gathering that are characteristic race for the color blue. They have been a part of the game since Alpha. Among other planes, Lorwyn-Shadowmoor and Ixalan are closely associated with Merfolk, who have various tribal synergies and multicolor abilities.
