MTG Creature Type

Hydra-type creatures in Magic: the Gathering were first introduced in Alpha. The many heads of these creatures are reporesented by +1/+1 counters and they often head damage prevention effects. Alpha's Rock Hydra was the first card with this creature type. They are most commonly in green, and they are the iconic creature for the color. They were prominently featured in both Theros blocks.
