MTG Creature Type

Sliver-type creatures in Magic: the Gathering were first introduced in Tempest. They are a unique type that can share their abilities with nearby creatures of the same type, courtesy of a hive mind. In the lore, Volrath is responsible for discovering Slivers on an unidentified plane. Slivers used to be global effects (affecting every sliver on the board) but were changed M14 and onwards to a simplified design affecting only one side of the board.
